Note:

The Gold Queen Mine was a quartz mine, five miles from Sonora in Tuolumne County, Calif. and owned by a consortium of Down Easters headed by University of Main hydraulics engineer Prof. George H. Hamlin. Suits and counter suits, caused by the economic troubles brought on by the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and Fire, involved the mine's assets, management and development.
